The brand name itself is a subtle homage to Indonesia’s linguistic history, drawing inspiration from the traditional spelling Ayer, used before the 1972 language reform. By embracing this historical nuance, AYR Water quietly celebrates the cultural and timeless significance of water, while signalling its commitment to innovation and responsible stewardship.
A logo with layers of meaning
At the core of AYR’s brand identity is a striking, custom-designed logo. Inspired by the hexagonal form of chemical structures, the logo typeface integrates subtle geometric cues that allude to the molecular composition of water.
The hexagon icon is more than a stylistic choice — it symbolises a spectrum of qualities, with each drop within representing clarity, luminosity, and the natural floral essence of water. This emblem not only speaks to the science and purity behind AYR’s products but also reinforces the brand’s promise to provide smart, clean water solutions tailored to the needs of diverse communities.
In developing the visual identity and brochure design for AYR Water, I translated these layered concepts into a cohesive system of communication. Typography, iconography, colour, and layout work in harmony to reflect AYR’s refined yet grounded character. The brochures not only present information clearly but also evoke the brand’s deeper narrative — one that is anchored in tradition, yet boldly future-focused.
